Step #1

You need to figure out what it is you want to go back to school for. There will be plenty of people trying to influence you, but you have to listen to your heart. If you find the law to be facinating, then maybe a degree in criminal justice would be in your best interest. If you think you want to run your own business, then maybe a business degree would fit your needs. Just remember that this is not only about what you are good at, but also what you enjoy. Step #2

You will have to figure out if you can get your entire degree online or if you will have to do part of it in the classroom. If you are wanting to go for something in a very hands on type of fields, then you might be able to get all your basics and some of the other classes out of the way, but you will probably have to step into the classroom after your first year or two so that you can finish your degree. The Business, Criminal Justice, and all the fields that have to do with computers can usually be done online, along with a handful of others.

You will have to decide which online college is right for you. They all offer similar programs, but some offer more extensive programs than other. There are also some that offer accelerated programs and some that do not. You will have to shop around and figure out which school you will be attending to get your online college degree.
